Estes Park, the perfect Colorado Destination for Photography.

A couple of months ago I was hired by DSC to shoot a corporate retreat on Wednesday. Exxon Mobile executives were flying in to go hiking in Estes Park followed by a reception at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch.

So, I loaded my camera gear in my backpack, laced up my hiking boots, grabbed a water bottle and headed up to Estes Park hoping that the weather would hold out! They arrived on time and we immediately started hiking (with a guide, of course). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but they turned out to be a great crowd! They were all very easy-going, happy to be there, and in awe of our beautiful Rockies! I totally got my workout running around to capture the group from all angles at 10,000 feet! After the hike, we traveled to the ranch for a fantastic BBQ and western show.

Some highlights included the boss throwing snow balls, a volunteer breaking the fake steer during a roping demonstration (in actuality, he lassoed it, started running, and ripped the head off the hay bale body) and nearly everyone snapping shots of the mountains on their phones! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would do it again in a heartbeat. All in a days work…and feeling blessed for that to be the case.
