Jason and I became fans of Amy & Jordan the day we met. This laid-back Colorado engaged couple are living their dream… they own a great online ski shop which affords them the opportunity to be professional triathletes. Yes, you read correctly, they are both professional triathletes. It is awesome that they share a huge part of their lives training and traveling to different races together. Amy & Jordan are tremendous athletes and soul mates. We aim to photograph couples in their natural surrounding – being themselves. With that in mind, we wanted to capture their athletic partnership as well as their sweet romantic side for their engagement photos. They brought along their pup, a treat to photograph, who LOVED bounding through the tall grass in the Bear Creek Lake area.
Rainstorms, seemingly every afternoon, have thrown a major wrench in our ability to shoot engagement photography in Denver this spring. Every week we have had crazy-cold-rainy-windy days and nobody wants to be goose-bumped and soggy in their engagement pictures! The day of Amy & Jordan’s engagement shoot, it was shaping up to be exactly as we were fearing… cloudy, windy, with afternoon thunderstorms. About an hour before our scheduled Bear Creek Lake engagement session, it started pouring rain. Amy & Jordan were pumped for their shoot that day so we decided to head on down to Bear Creek regardless and see what we could do! We met there, Fat Tires and cameras in hand, the rain turned to a drizzle (and eventually ceased), the winds let up and it was gorgeous! We got an hour or so of some great engagement photography in before Mother Nature opened the floodgates again.
