A few weeks ago Jason and I (Gina) got to spend the day with Becca and Sam photographing their springtime Colorado wedding at Arrowhead Golf Course. When we met Becca for her initial consultation last fall, Becca lived in Colorado and Sam lived out of state. We not only fell in love with her infectious laugh and overall lovely personality, but also their sweet love story. They both tried dating but never felt anyone was “the one” so each of them signed up for eHarmony hundreds of miles away. After talking and emailing for months, they met and both knew instantly they’d found “the one.”
Usually we get to know our couples during their engagement session, however, Sam moved to Colorado just days before the wedding. That didn’t leave much time to sneak in an engagement photography shoot, let alone give them much time to breath before their wedding!
On their wedding day, Becca was just glowing. The ceremony had to be moved indoors because there was still snow on the ground from a recent Colorado spring snowstorm. (Those of you in Colorado remember the 18″ of snow that dropped overnight on March 23rd). Becca was running late, her dress got a touch dirty on the drive to the first look location… but, nothing could wipe the smile off her face. It was a gloriously sunny day at Arrowhead Golf Course for their romantic first look.
The “first look” – This is an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other for the first time prior to the wedding ceremony. It is a private and intimate moment between the couple. Photography of the first look is amazing to capture. There’s no pressure, no audience, just the bride and groom sharing their natural and spontaneous feelings with each other for the first time on their wedding day. It is such a special moment that we tend to photograph the moment from a short distance.
The ceremony went off without a hitch even with seven children under eight years old involved in the process. The reception at Arrowhead was perfect – with the sun setting behind the Colorado foothills. One of my favorite touches was everyone got a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Carmel Apple as a favor! It almost makes me want to abandon all our plans for a candy bar and get apples instead

Arrowhead Golf Course is a absolutely amazing wedding venue. It’s proximity to Denver makes it a fantastic venue to capture Colorado wedding photography. Thank you Becca and Sam for allowing us to be a part of your amazing day.
